Online Symposium
German - Ukrainian Summit for the Advancement of Organ Transplantation in Ukraine
January 20, 2021
Dear Sir or Madam,
Dear Colleagues,
Organ transplantation and its advancement is a complex and multidisciplinary endeavour. Difficult surgical operations, the management of postsurgical care and long term follow up, immunosuppression and immunologic typing are only few keywords in this interdisciplinary mission. The technical issues of organ transplantation are embedded in a legislative and organisational framework:
Ethical considerations in living donor organ donation, distribution of allogenic organs and their transportation as well as national and international laws and quality assurance build the foundation for well-organised organ transplantation programs.
Based on a longstanding surgical connection between Ukrainian and German surgeons in Lübeck, we now present an international symposium to foster cooperation between Ukraine and Germany in the context of strengthening the prerequisites for transplantation in the Ukraine. This event will be the beginning of a longer standing cooperation, mutual understanding and support. We are herein focussing on technical aspects, immunological aspects and legislative and organisational aspects of organ transplantation. Arising from this summit we hope to build strong bands between specialists for further individual development.
The University Hospital of Schleswig-Holstein, Lübeck and Kiel, Germany, the Bogomolets National Medical University, Kyiv, Ukraine and the National Pirogov Memorial Medical University, Vinnytsya, Ukraine are pleased to welcome you to this Interactive German - Ukrainian Summit for the Advancement of Organ Transplantation in Ukraine, which will be supported by the Ukrainian Ministry of Health, the German Embassy in Ukraine, Ukrainian Embassy in Germany and German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Information Center Kiev, Ukraine.
